The new album Aerosol is as intense as public television. No commercial breaks to relax – take a break while it’s playing, and the chances are, you won’t recognize it when you come back. Around the sophisticated, syncopated house grooves of “Perfect Pitch” and Philly-punk madness that is “Risquo”, there is enough room for sweet and jazzy anaesthetics, acid-laced electropop, horny Bollywood funk and alarming robo-ska.
Perfect Pitch. The most dancefloor-oriented track on the album is also the most talked-about and admired. Local house crowd cheered to it long before its’ release. More surprisingly, “Perfect Pitch (Ajukaja Aerosoul Air-Assault Mix)” has received praise from DJ legends recently headlining the Mutant Disco in Tallinn. Joe Claussell and Ashley Beedle both demanded a copy, latter even promising to release the track on his new label.
Comments. As The Face magazine said a year ago: “…sounds like some collaboration between DJ Hype, Mark E Smith and Deacon Blue”, a drunken Estonian yob remarked: “musa on jama, aga muidu on ilgelt lahe!”
